Tour Overview
Most people come to Agra for one thing: the Taj Mahal. And honestly, it is worth it. But if you stop there, you miss something special that is just a few hours away.
This 3-day tour mixes the best of both worlds. You spend your first day with India’s most loved monument, the Taj Mahal, along with Agra Fort. On day two, you drive to the Etawah Lion Safari (Etawah Safari Park), one of the few places in North India where you can see lions in a natural-style forest setting. On day three, you visit Fatehpur Sikri and other Agra gems before heading home.
It is a slow, easy, family-friendly trip. There is no rushing from place to place, and there is time to enjoy local food and take photos.
Highlights
- Taj Mahal at sunrise: See the white marble glow in soft morning light, with fewer crowds.
- Agra Fort: Walk through the red sandstone fort that was once home to Mughal emperors.
- Mehtab Bagh sunset view: Watch the Taj from across the Yamuna River, a calm spot for photos.
- Etawah Lion Safari: Ride through a protected safari area and look for lions, plus other animals like tigers, leopards, bears, and deer.
- Smooth road trip: Enjoy the drive from Agra to Etawah through the Uttar Pradesh countryside.
- Local Agra food: Try petha, bedai-jalebi, chaat, and Mughlai dishes.

Mani is the best! Mani was 10/10 guide! A great chat and very knowledgeable about not only the Taj itself but the surrounding area, local fare and history. He showed us areas of the Taj not accessible to all of the public (felt very VIP) and is very familiar/friendly with security and staff of the grounds. As first time travelers to India, we felt very taken care of during the tour and most importantly, safe with Mani. We had so much fun and when we visit the Taj again, we would only want to do it again with him!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

family visit to Taj Mahal It was a wonderful experience when we visited the Taj Mahal and the Palace of the King in Agra a few days ago. Blessed to have as our guide Mr. Zahid, whose knowledge of the subject is superb, we enjoyed every moment of our walks through the site. His explanations were accurate and made the trip interesting. I highly recommend him for your personal or business visit to the region, you will not be disappointed. In addition to the love for his work and the subject-matter, he is an excellent photographer and with his skills made our visit a memorable one!
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Mehtab Bagh
Meet your guide or driver and head to the Taj Mahal. Going early is the best choice. The light is soft, the air is cooler, and the crowd is smaller. Spend around two to three hours exploring the main mausoleum, the gardens, and the mosque beside it. Your guide will share the love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.
Go back to your hotel for a relaxed breakfast and rest.
Visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Look out for the Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, and Musamman Burj, where the emperor spent his final years looking at the Taj.
Move to Mehtab Bagh for sunset. From here, you get a peaceful view of the Taj from the opposite side of the river. After that, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight stay in agra.
Day 2: Agra to Etawah Lion Safari
After breakfast, start your drive to Etawah. The road trip takes about three hours, so keep some snacks and water handy.
Reach Etawah Safari Park and take the safari ride. Depending on the safari you choose, you may see lions, tigers, leopards, bears, and many kinds of deer. Keep your windows closed, stay quiet, and let your eyes do the work. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, which is part of the fun.
Have lunch nearby and enjoy a little time around the park. You can also see the deer park and other animal enclosures.
Evening: Drive back to Agra. Have dinner and rest.
Day 3: Fatehpur Sikri & Departure
After breakfast, visit Fatehpur Sikri, about 40 km from Agra. Walk through the Buland Darwaza, the Jama Masjid, and Panch Mahal. It is a quiet and beautiful place with lots of history.
Return to Agra. Stop for some last-minute shopping, like marble souvenirs, leather items, or the famous Agra petha.
Get dropped off at the railway station, airport, or your next destination.
