10.30 AM-12 PM- Taj Mahal
Of course, it goes without saying that this will be the biggest highlight of your same day Agra tour with Fatehpur Sikri. Venture into the precincts of one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prepare to be stunned by the sheer beauty and magnificence of this monument that is one of the world’s most famous and enduring symbols of love. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to Mumtaz Mahal, his favorite wife.
The beautiful white marble and craftsmanship will leave you spellbound, as you explore the interiors of the monument and witness the exquisite carvings and calligraphy. Get your fill of the Taj Mahal and then explore the lovely gardens with their fountains. There is also a nice museum on the premises that you can check out. You’ll not tire of taking fabulous photographs while you’re here and don’t forget one with the gorgeous Yamuna River in the backdrop.

12 PM-1.30 PM- Agra Fort
Your next stop will be another UNESCO World Heritage Site, namely the delightful Agra Fort. Steeped in history, it was the capital and primary residence of the Mughals until the capital shifted to Delhi in 1638. Witness the fabulous architectural touches all around and explore key attractions like the Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khaas, and the octagonal Musamman Burj on your visit. Watch the Taj Mahal in all its glory from a whole new angle and learn about the local legends and fascinating history of the fort and the Emperors who lived here.

1.30 PM-2.30 PM- Lunch
Have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, choosing from Mughal or Indian specialties, topping it off with desserts like the signature Agra Petha.

2.30 PM-3 PM-Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb
Witness the Baby Taj in all its glory, nestled on the banks of the Yamuna River. The lovely white marble and exquisite craftsmanship are a treat for the senses indeed. Not for thing is it called the Baby Taj, since it closely resembles the Taj Mahal itself. It’s also got a lot of history attached to it, since Empress Noor Jahan built the mausoleum to honor her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg (who was the Kingdom’s Itmad-Ud-Daulah previously).

3 PM-4.30 PM- Fatehpur Sikri
From the enchanting world of the Taj and Itmad-Ud-Daulah, you will now visit the Fatehpur Sikri complex. This is an abandoned city that was lovingly built by Emperor Akbar and magnificently stands till date. Eventually, the capital had to be shifted from here after a short period of time due to several factors including water scarcity. Explore the awe-inspiring red sandstone buildings dotting the premises while checking out the Buland Darwaza gate and the Jama Masjid mosque. You’ll also discover the Tomb of Salim Chishti here and hear fascinating legends about his bond with the Emperor and the latter’s quest for a son.
Diwan-e-Khas, Jodha Bai’s Palace, and the five-storied Panch Mahal are other attractions that you should certainly visit on your trip to Fatehpur Sikri. There are several vantage points for enjoying amazing views of the surrounding landscape as well.

4.30 PM- Return to Delhi
After a fabulous same day Agra tour with Fatehpur Sikri, you will now begin your return journey to Delhi in your vehicle.
Carry back a lot more than photographs; you’ll create memories to last for a lifetime. This brings a close to a memorable same day trip from Delhi.
