Tour Overview
Rajasthan is the land of kings, and it feels like it. Giant forts stand on hilltops, palaces float on lakes, camels walk across golden sand, and every city has its own color: pink, blue, gold, and white.
Most people try to see it all in a week and end up tired. This 15-day tour fixes that. You get enough time in every city to explore, relax, eat well, and take photos without rushing. You start in Delhi, travel through the Shekhawati region, the Thar Desert, the blue city of Jodhpur, and the lake city of Udaipur. You then visit holy Pushkar, the Pink City of Jaipur, and the tiger forests of Ranthambore, and finish at the Taj Mahal in Agra.
It is a great plan for families, couples, friends, solo travelers, and first-time visitors to India.
Highlights
- Walk through quiet lanes lined with colorful, hand-painted mansions.
- Visit the living “Golden Fort,” then watch the sunset on the Sam sand dunes.
- Enjoy a camel ride in the Thar Desert and an evening of local songs and dance.
- See the blue city spread out below one of India’s grandest forts.
- Admire a stunning marble temple with over a thousand carved pillars.
- Relax in a calm holy town beside a sacred lake, with a famous Brahma Temple.

Mani is the best! Mani was 10/10 guide! A great chat and very knowledgeable about not only the Taj itself but the surrounding area, local fare and history. He showed us areas of the Taj not accessible to all of the public (felt very VIP) and is very familiar/friendly with security and staff of the grounds. As first time travelers to India, we felt very taken care of during the tour and most importantly, safe with Mani. We had so much fun and when we visit the Taj again, we would only want to do it again with him!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

family visit to Taj Mahal It was a wonderful experience when we visited the Taj Mahal and the Palace of the King in Agra a few days ago. Blessed to have as our guide Mr. Zahid, whose knowledge of the subject is superb, we enjoyed every moment of our walks through the site. His explanations were accurate and made the trip interesting. I highly recommend him for your personal or business visit to the region, you will not be disappointed. In addition to the love for his work and the subject-matter, he is an excellent photographer and with his skills made our visit a memorable one!
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
Arrive in Delhi, meet your driver, and check in to your hotel. If you have energy, visit India Gate and Humayun’s Tomb, or just rest after your journey. Enjoy an easy dinner and sleep early.
Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi to Mandawa
After breakfast, drive to Mandawa in the Shekhawati region. Check in, have lunch, and spend the afternoon on a haveli walk. Look closely at the wall paintings. You will spot gods, soldiers, animals, and even old trains and cars. End the day with a Rajasthani dinner.
Overnight stay in Mandawa.
Day 3: Mandawa to Bikaner
Drive to Bikaner after breakfast. In the afternoon, visit Junagarh Fort, known for its carved balconies, painted halls, and royal rooms. Explore the old city’s lanes, and try the local snacks, especially Bikaneri bhujia.
Day 4: Bikaner to Jaisalmer
This is a long drive, so start early and take breaks along the way. The scenery slowly turns to desert. Reach Jaisalmer by afternoon, check in, and rest. In the evening, walk around the old town or visit a viewpoint to see the fort glowing golden at sunset.
Overnight: Jaisalmer
Day 5: Jaisalmer Sightseeing & Desert Evening
Visit Jaisalmer Fort, one of the few forts in India where people still live inside. Walk through its narrow lanes, see the Jain temples, and enjoy the view from the top. Then visit Patwon Ki Haveli and Gadisar Lake.
Drive to the Sam Sand Dunes (about 40 km away).
Take a camel ride across the dunes, watch the sunset, and enjoy folk music and dance around a campfire. Dinner is served at the desert camp.
Overnight: Jaisalmer or desert camp
Day 6: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur
Drive to Jodhpur in the morning. After check-in and lunch, visit the Jaswant Thada, a peaceful white marble memorial. In the evening, wander through the Clock Tower market (Sardar Market) for spices, handicrafts, and snacks. Try the famous makhaniya lassi and mirchi vada.
Overnight: Jodhpur
Day 7: Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur
Visit Mehrangarh Fort first. It sits high above the blue houses of the old city and has a great museum, with views you will not forget.
Drive towards Udaipur. On the way, stop at the Ranakpur Jain Temple, a beautiful marble temple with intricately carved pillars, set in a quiet green valley.
Reach Udaipur and check in. Take an easy evening walk near the lake.
Day 8: Udaipur Sightseeing
Visit the City Palace, a huge complex with courtyards, balconies, and lake views. Then see Saheliyon Ki Bari, a peaceful garden built for royal ladies.
Take a stroll around Jagdish Temple and the old city bazaars, great for miniature paintings and handmade crafts.
Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola at sunset, with views of the Lake Palace and the city lights coming on. Dinner at a rooftop restaurant is a nice treat.
Overnight: Udaipur
Day 9: Udaipur to Pushkar
Start after breakfast and drive to Pushkar. Check in, rest for a bit, then walk to Pushkar Lake and its ghats. In the evening, visit the Brahma Temple, one of the very few temples in India dedicated to Lord Brahma. Browse the colorful market, and note that Pushkar is a vegetarian town.
Overnight: Pushkar
Day 10: Pushkar to Jaipur
After a slow morning, drive to Jaipur. Check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a photo stop at Jal Mahal, then walk through Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar for block-print fabrics, juttis, and silver jewelry.
Overnight: Jaipur
Day 11: Jaipur Sightseeing
Visit Amber Fort early, before the crowds. See the courtyards, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), and the view over Maota Lake. Elephant rides are available, but many travelers now choose to walk or take a jeep, which is kinder to the animals.
Take photos at Hawa Mahal, the “Palace of Winds.”
Visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, a collection of giant stone astronomy tools from the 1700s.
Free time to shop, relax, or enjoy a Rajasthani thali.

Day 13: Ranthambore Tiger Safari
Go on a jeep or canter safari in Ranthambore National Park. Look out for tigers, leopards, sambar deer, crocodiles, and many birds. Stay quiet and keep your eyes open. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, which makes each one special.
Rest at the hotel, and then take an optional second safari.
Day 14: Ranthambore to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri
Drive towards Agra. On the way, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar. Walk through the Buland Darwaza and Jama Masjid. Continue to Agra, check in, and visit Agra Fort if time allows. End the day at Mehtab Bagh for a peaceful sunset view of the Taj Mahal.
